On 4-8 June 2018, the representatives of the Georgian National Communications Commission (GNCC) visited the Communications Regulatory Authority (RRT). Five experts of the GNCC accompanied by the assistant of the Resident Twinning Advisor came to Lithuania for a study visit which was organised by the RRT with the partners from Poland and Germany while implementing the Twinning Project GE/15/ENI/TE/01/16 (GE/27) “Supporting the Georgian National Communications Commission (GNCC) in developing of its electronic communications regulatory framework and operational capacities in line with EU regulatory framework”.

The aim of this visit was to introduce the Lithuanian experience to the representatives of the Georgian regulator in developing the broadband infrastructure and services. The guests heard the presentations prepared by the RRT specialists, visited several communications companies, as well as laboratories in Dovainonys and Kaunas owned by RRT, took part in equipment testing and interference measurements carried out in Kaunas and Trakai. During the discussions, the RRT representatives not only presented good practice of their own country, but they also became aware of the Georgian regulator’s experience.

This was one of the three study visits in Lithuania envisaged in the Twinning Project that RRT, as the main partner, launched at the end of 2017. More information on the Twinning Project is available on: http://www.old.www.rrt.lt/lt/pranesimai-spaudai/rrt-kartu-su-xhh2.html
