In the EU, the electromagnetic compatibility of equipment is regulated by:
- Directive 2014/30/EU of the European parliament and of the Council (thereafter – EMCD).
- Special directives, intended for specific groups of equipment: radio equipment 2014/53/ES, medical devices 93/42/EEB, machinery 2006/42/EB, measuring instruments 2014/32/EU and so forth.
The electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) Directive 2014/30/EU ensures that electrical and electronic equipment does not generate, or is not affected by, electromagnetic disturbance.
Electromagnetic compatibility of electrical and electronic apparatus or fixed installations in Republic of Lithuania is regulated by Technical Regulations of Electromagnetic Compatibility, which implements the EMCD into the national law.
